Shelton Daal, University of Maryland, College Park

Shelton Daal is a Spring 2020 graduate from the University of Maryland who received his BA in Sociology with a minor in International Development and Conflict Management. He is going on to complete his Master’s in Public Policy through the University of Maryland's BA/MPP program. Shelton has worked as a research assistant in the Sociology department and as a community assistant for the Department of Resident Life. Additionally he has been an intern for the Maryland Leadership Education and Development Program, the Maryland Municipal League, and most recently for the Federal Trade Commission. Shelton is passionate about racial justice, intersectionality, and education reform. As a 2020 Summer Research Assistant Shelton will be working on projects focusing on education, digital equity, and reentry for at-risk youths
