The Maryland Citizens Redistricting Commission Co-Chaired by Judge Williams finalized their maps and presented them to Governor Hogan on November 8, 2021.
Governor Hogan established the commission in January of 2021 with the delivery of an executive order. This established that a group of 9 people, 3 Republicans, 3 Democrats, and 3 Independents, would come together as an independent commission to draw fair maps for the state of Maryland. Several important criteria were considered amongst the commission when crafting their final product. In addition to expert opinion, there were 3 virtual listening tours held across the state to account for the voice of the public.
Judge Williams was one of the three co-chairs that led this monumental effort in the state.
