Judge AW Center Recognizes the 59th Anniversary of Thurgood Marshall SCOTUS Confirmation

"Where you see wrong or inequality or injustice speak out because this is your country. This is your democracy. Make it. Protect it. Pass it on." -Chief Justice Thurgood Marshall

The Judge Alexander Williams Jr. Center for Education, Justice and Ethics recognizes the 59th anniversary of Thurgood Marshall's confirmation to the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) as the first Black Supreme Court justice. We honor Thurgood Marshall and his commitment to upholding the Constitution, channeling a moral arc towards justice, and fighting for the civil and human rights for all.

Prior to joining the Court, Marshall was a transformational leading civil rights lawyer for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) who successfully argued the decision for Brown v. Board of Education (1954) which struck down and reversed racial segregation in public schools.

Marshall served the SCOTUS for 24 years where he had a revolutionary run fighting for equality and justice and set the precedent for the next generations to actively defend and push for a just world. We are proud and privileged to care and support the Thurgood Marshall Affinity Center, also known as PS103, located in West Baltimore as tribute to Thurgood Marshall and his dedication to fighting for educational rights for all students.
