On July 1, 2024, Judge AW Center gathered with 200+ state-elected officials and community members from all over the world to celebrate the Grand Opening Celebration and Ribbon Cutting for the Thurgood Marshall Amenity Center (PS103), where President Dr. Darryl Pines, President of the University of Maryland College Park, served as lead speaker for the event.

Sourced from the Thurgood Marshall Amenity Center, P. S. 103 Henry Highland Garnet School (elementary school of Justice Thurgood Marshall) has been redeveloped into the Justice Thurgood Marshall Amenity Center. This $15 Million project included New Market Tax Credits, Federal Historic Tax Credits, Congressional Directed Earmark
and other funding sources.

The Justice Thurgood Marshall Amenity Center at P S 103 Henry Highland Garnet will reclaim its role as a beacon for hope, a center for educational excellence, a force for empowerment and a place where you can give and receive assistance. It will lead to the transformation of Historic West Baltimore. At PS103, the Judge AW Center will provide research, advocacy, violence-intervention programming, and professional development education.
